Schwebebahn
Wuppertal’s landmark, the Schwebbahn, has been traveling a 13 km route across Wuppertal since 1901. It not only serves as a photo motif and means of transportation for tourists, but also transports 80,000 people to their destination every day as Wuppertal’s main means of transportation.
Von der Heydt-Museum
The collection of the Von der Heydt Museum includes paintings from the Baroque to the present, sculptures, graphics, and photographs. A special focus is on 19th century French art and classical modernism. In addition, it is always worthwhile to find out about special exhibitions, for which works of art from all over the world are brought together on interesting themes.
Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch
The dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch celebrated world successes with her ensemble since the seventies. Even after her death in 2009, the theater continued under different directors. Performances are currently still taking place in the city’s opera house, until the Pina Bausch Center is built in the future in the building of the Schaupielhaus.
Sculpture Park Waldfrieden
Amidst trees which also line the winding driveway of the secluded site lies elevated between Elberfeld and Barmen the sculpture park Waldfrieden of the artist Tony Cragg.
